The Witcher is a role-playing game based on the world of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels. The Witcher novels center around the main character, Geralt of Rivia. Geralt is a Witcher, a mutant created by potions and magic, designed to roam the world and kill foul monsters and creatures that threat the general population. This is a medieval fantasy world that deals with violence between races such as elves, dwarves and humans. That can be seen in the game.

The original Witcher was hailed as one of the best RPGs there are. Thanks to a strong background story, the combat and character system and the general world you are set into. CDProjekt decided there were some minor touches to finish, so they released the Enhanced version. The Enhanced version includes over 200 new animations, more in-game characters, and a general texture improvement in characters and environments. It also includes more dialogues, a new inventory system and faster load times. All the bugs the game are fixed, but new ones come in during the cut-scenes. Nevertheless, this edition just adds more detail and immersion to an already great game. If you didn't have the original Witcher, forget that box, get the Enhanced version.
